Mr. Johnson is the founder of the Freedom Riding Academy Skills Camp concept, intended to improve both veterans and service members’ riding skills utilizing closed circuit courses and realistic speeds. He also serves as a Defense Intelligence Agency civil servant at United States Special Operations Command, MacDill AFB, Florida.
A career Army Special Forces non-commissioned officer, Mr. Johnson continues to serve in the grade of Master Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves. Throughout his career Mr. Johnson has served in a number of Special Forces roles and commands, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Special Operations Command-Central, and Headquarters U.S. Special Operations Command.
Mr. Johnson is a United States Motorcycle Coaching Association and Yamaha Champions Riding School certified coach; routinely providing advanced riding skills coaching. He has supported high risk training his entire military career, most notably as a freefall parachutist instructor having instructed both military and civilian jumpers for over a decade.
Mr. Johnson began riding motorcycles at the age of 8 and utilizes over 40 years of experience to assist all riders to understand how to properly ride. He and his wife Alicia currently reside in Tampa Florida.
Mr. Jonathan “Jon” Carroll is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces officer and now works as a Department of the Air Force civilian employee for U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill AFB, Florida. Throughout his military career, Mr. Carroll held a number of Special Forces command and staff positions, to include duty with 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), assignments at the Pentagon, Special Operations Command Pacific, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, and U.S. embassies abroad.
Mr. Carroll is a Certified Higher Education Professional (CHEP) and a Joint Special Operations University Master Instructor. He is also holds certifications as a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), a Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI) divemaster, and a U.S. Coast Guard qualified captain.
His education includes a Masters of Management in Defence Studies from the University of Canberra (Australia) and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Jacksonville State University. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Australian Command and Staff College, and the Joint and Combined Warfighting School.
His interests include scuba diving, fishing, running marathons and half marathons, backpacking, volunteering, and motorcycling, with over 40 years experience on a variety of dirt bikes, cruisers, and super sports.
He and his wife Deborah have three grown children and currently reside in Tampa, Florida.
Mr. Wayne Waldon is a former U.S. Army Infantry Soldier and now Chief Executive Officer of the Reveille Group, LLC.
Mr. Waldon earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Furman University and MBA from Georgetown. He began his journey serving in the Army Infantry from 2004-2009. Following this he worked for General Dynamics Information Technology. During his tenure, Wayne managed design, construction and implementation of multi-million dollar projects that brought information technology services and training to customers in the health, security, intelligence and government arenas. In 2014 Mr. Waldon and Selah Rhodes founded Reveille Group where they both continue to serve the United States through various agencies.
When he’s not integrating business strategies for Reveille, Wayne spends time riding motorcycles, participating in various adaptive sports—a passion he found while recovering from his injuries as a soldier—and serving as a peer mentor for other wounded warriors. He is excited and honored to support Freedom Riding Academy as a Board Member, Riders coach and contribute to its’ core mission.
