Mission
Freedom Riding Academy’s mission is to save lives and reduce injuries to military, veteran, and first responder motorcycle riders by providing motorcycle skills training.

Freedom Riding Academy provides military service members (Active and Reserve), first responders, veterans, and their dependents lifesaving advanced motorcycle riding skills camps and organizes special events to bring awareness of safe riding practices to the greater armed forces/veteran/first responder riding community.

74% of motorcycle accidents involving Department of Defense (DoD) personnel occur on high performance motorcycles and the majority of the 74% are:
(1) single vehicle incidents;
(2) involve junior enlisted personnel; and
(3) are primarily caused by the rider’s inability to navigate a corner.

DoD mandated parking lot motorcycle safety courses have not changed this disturbing statistic. Parking lot speeds do not replicate the realistic environment in which these fatalities are occurring. Freedom Riding Academy will utilize closed circuits (racetracks) to provide a suitable environment to allow riders to learn and practice lifesaving skills at realistic speeds in the safest venue possible. Similar civilian advanced riding schools cost over $2,000.00. A junior enlisted service member making less than $600.00 dollars per week is typically unable to afford this type of advanced training and therefore many military riders lack the skills to safely operate high performance motorcycles.

Freedom Riding Academy training events will initially occur in the Southeastern United States then expand to the mid-Atlantic, with plans to eventually support service members nationwide.

Freedom Riding Academy will carry out this mission with the following programs:

  • Cutting Edge Skills Camps
  • Non-Clinical Outreach Events
Skills camps are focused on making riders safer and the special events will focus on exposing service members, veterans, and first responders to safer riding options and services available to them.
